Building Trust with Government – a Toustone example

“Trust is the glue of life. It’s the foundational principle that holds all relationships, including business partnerships.” Stephen R Covey.

Establishing trust with Government departments is a key platform to forming, growing and maintaining meaningful relationships with Government decision makers.

The trust journey doesn’t happen overnight, but once those sparks of trust begin to grow, sales opportunities with Government inevitably follow.

Most businesses get this the wrong way around – when they come across a Government department that they want to do business with, they go straight for the jugular with a hard sell – you’ve seen this before, especially during this ‘EOFY’ time of year. Oh, how I’m tired of seeing that EOFY acronym shouted by so many businesses around May and June!

Without some level of trust FIRST, there is little opportunity to expand your Government revenue streams.

Many Gov Ready clients get this, and Toustone, an Australian advanced and predictive data analytics company, has nailed the brief by first building trust with Government entities, then partnering with Government on some awesome initiatives.

Toustone is gaining global attention as it empowers organisations to transform their data practices. As a result, the company, with its headquarters in regional Australia and offices in Queensland and NSW, is being approached by all levels of government to educate and inspire public servants and their private sector suppliers on how to get the most mileage from their data and AI.

In just the last few weeks, they have:

  • Addressed government and business leaders at Federal Government AusIndustry AI & Manufacturing Forum,
  • Run a workshop on emerging tech, data, business intelligence, and machine learning with transport experts at Transport for New South Wales,
  • Been invited to join the prestigious CSIRO AI ecosystem directory due to their capabilities to enable business adoption of artificial intelligence technologies.

  • From June 11 to 18, Toustone will be lead presenters at CSIRO’s inaugural ClimateTech & AI Roadshow (Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne). From my perspective this comes as no surprise given Toustone has been at the forefront of data excellence for more than a decade, with the majority of their government work being with local councils and departments across transport, customer service, and health. You can view some of Toustone’s government data services and case studies here.

“We’ve been servicing the public sector from the very start as we are a community-focussed organisation. Over the years, I have found many government organisations are blessed with a wealth of data at their fingertips, but what excites me is helping them tap into its true potential. If the right support and pathways are in place, the real-world impact of data and AI on government operations is huge,” shared Craig Lefoe, CEO of Toustone.

Why is Toustone in high demand right now? Their people have created streamlined solutions that address common organisational challenges such as ESG reporting, staff retention, and customer retention. They also provide government organisations with data consultancy services, and the ability to benchmark, measure, report and forecast on their data, specific to their goals.

Of course what Toustone excels in is vitally important, but equally critical is that before Toustone sells to any level of Government, they understand that building trust and credibility is one of the major keys which unlocks Government doors.
